- Stores and Logistics intern
Key Tasks
- Sorting and arranging items in stores according to use and labeling
- Monitoring, Planning and organizing replenishment of supplies in the store timely
- Maintaining adequate stock of supplies and materials in store regularly required for smooth operation of programme activities
- Ensuring safety and security of items in store. This takes the form of ensuring that there are adequate security systems in place to guard against theft, fire or any form of destruction
- Inspecting and verifying all goods before receiving them and recording them into stores records
- Issuing stocks as requested and ensuring they are properly authorized

The purpose of the RTSUs is to provide technical and logistical assistance to SAGE district implementation.
The MGLSD through the PMU seeks to recruit a competitive, competent and well-motivated individual to fill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to be based in Kyenjojo District. The position reports to the RTSU Coordinator.
Job Purpose:
To implement, monitor and evaluate systems to enhance quality control, improve internal processes and results delivery underpinning accountability at various levels. Contribute to overall program learning and sharing.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Extract any relevant data for monitoring from the MIS and use it for analysis, planning and decision-making.
- Prepare reports on the process monitoring indicators, detailing progress against work plan, challenges and recommendations.
- Provide inputs to various review meetings at district level where lessons learned are discussed, improvements for the design and operations are proposed and strategies on how lessons learned can be applied.
- Plan and provide on the job training, coaching and guidance on monitoring instruments to the district SAGE staff
- Ensuring that pay point monitoring reports from all pay points in the district are immediately submitted and captured at the end of each payment cycle.
- Train and supervise the SCDO SAGE and Sub-county CDOs in undertaking pay point exit surveys on a quarterly basis.
- On a monthly basis, undertake beneficiary transaction audit as will be determined by sample transactions provided by ESP PMU. The audit will majorly focus on high balances, large transactions, out of time transactions and any other audits that will be deemed necessary.
- Track and compile information on programme coordination meetings at district level and share feedback with the respective districts.
- Lead the planning, implementation and documentation of findings of monitoring visits.
- Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to SPO M&E and the PMU staff.
- Manage beneficiary database containing information on enrolment, payments, grievance and complaints. Participate in documentation and resolution of beneficiary complaints in line with complaint management and resolution guidelines and share this with the Complaints and Grievance Officer.

Qualifications, Skills and experiences
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Public Administration and Management and Business Administration with a bias in Human Resource Management
- 1-2 years’ work experience in human resource management
- Good working knowledge of HR functions
- Must have keen interest working with donor funded project.
- Must be willing to abide by Expanding Social Protection Programme/MSP policies, procedures during the internship period.
- Should be a person of character, creativity, honesty, positive attitude and ability to learn.

Maxwell Stamp PLC (MSP) seeks to appoint a Risk and Compliance Coordinator for the Expanding Social Protection Programme in Uganda. ESP is based in the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD), and is being delivered with the support of the UK Department for International Development and Irish Aid (the “Development Partners” or “DPs”). MSP is engaged to provide a range of technical assistance and fund management services as the Social Protection Fund Manager (SPFM) for ESPII which will run until June 2020. The goal of ESP is to reduce chronic poverty and improve life chances for poor men, women and children in Uganda. The programme aims to embed a national social protection system, including social assistance for the poorest and most vulnerable, as a core element of Uganda’s national planning and budgeting processes
Risk and Compliance Coordinator
Reports to: Team Leader (MSP) with dotted line to Deputy Team Leader (MSP) and Head PMU (MGLSD)
Role Definition: To implement the risk and compliance function in the Program Management Unit to ensure compliance with Government and DP policies, organizational policies, audit recommendations, internal and external review recommendations, conduct internal reviews and fraud assessments and supporting implementation of actions to strengthen systems and promote fraud prevention.
Key Result Areas
- Responsible for ensuring governance foundations are in place and operating effectively
- Provide risk management monitoring and reporting
- Manage the system to monitor and follow-up implementation of improvement actions from internal audits conducted earlier.
- Monitor fraud reporting mechanisms such as whistle-blower reporting
- Responsible for internal compliance with laws, regulations, policies and contracts
- Provide system compliance monitoring and reporting
- Provide compliance monitoring and reporting for Senior Citizens Grant
Personal Specifications
We are looking for an individual with proven strengths in the areas of audit, monitoring, reviewing, reporting and training.
Education Requirements
A minimum of an honours degree in any of the following fields: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce (Management), and some courses in any of the functions covered by the position. A master’s degree and a professional qualification in the outlined functions will have an added advantage individually and in combination.
Competencies
- Knowledge of DFID, Irish Aid and GoU compliance procedures
- Strong report writing skills
- Capable of building and maintaining effective working relationships with strong focus on meeting deadlines
- Good team worker
- Working knowledge of Audit, Compliance, Procurement, Contracts and Management
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience with a reputable and busy organisation in management of Audit and/or Compliance function.
