The Government of Uganda, in collaboration with the United Nations World Food
Programme (WFP), has embarked on strengthening the country’s social protection
architecture across various building blocks. The priority areas include the legal and
policy framework, beneficiary information and assistance management, monitoring and
evaluation, governance and coordination, administration and delivery mechanisms,
and financing. In this briefing note, we highlight selected milestones achieved in the
legal and policy framework, the capacity development of human resources, and the
enhancement of beneficiary information and assistance management.
