Simon joined ESP Programme in 2010 as the Communications Adviser. He has over 15 years’ experience as a communications strategist; with expertise in especially designing communication strategies. He is a seasoned writer, editor, development communicator, public relations practitioner and communications consultant. Simon led the development of the ESP Phase 1 communications that helped to introduce and popularize the Senior Citizens Grants and social protection in Uganda.
He joined ESP from UNDP where he worked for 5 years as the Communications Analyst, under the Office of the UNDP Resident Representative/UN Resident Coordinator. Here he was responsible for designing strategies for UNDP outreach in Uganda and also supports the UNDP regional office in Johannesburg. His areas of interest include: Strategic communications, Communication for Development (C4D), International Relations, Media and social transformation.
Simon studied at Makerere University, University of Leicester and Uganda Management Institute. He has also received training in Uganda and internationally in the areas of advocacy, development communication, and strategic communications. He has visited several countries around the world.
